This crochet Christmas Stocking has a nice subtle texture to it. It’ll look great decorating any mantle during the Holiday season.
If this is your first time making a crochet stocking then it can seem intimidating.
I always thought crochet Christmas Stockings were going to be hard to make. But they really aren’t that hard at all.
Depending on the pattern, the only thing that may be worked separately is the heel. With this pattern, the heel is worked onto the stocking in rows and then seamed rather than being worked completely separate.
The stocking is worked from the toe up in the round.
Yarn:
This crochet Christmas stocking uses a worsted weight #4 yarn. Specifically Knit Picks Mighty Stitch. WeCrochet provided the yarn in order for me to create this stocking pattern for you.
The 2 colors used are Spruce and White for this project.
This specific yarn is very soft and has a nice shine to it. It is on the thinner side of a worsted weight. It is also 80% Acrylic and 20% Superwash Wool. It is a great yarn option for so many things.
I would also love using this yarn to crochet some hats and scarves!

Stitches/Techniques:
There are 3 main stitches used throughout this stocking.
Those stitches are single crochet, half double crochet and the mini bean stitch. The mini bean stitch is explained within the pattern.
You will need to know how to work in the round and in rows. You will also need to know how to work in the back loop only and know how to follow instructions for a special stitch.

I really like this pattern, I decided to make 2. I realized while making the 2nd one that I had inadvertently omitted rows 10-14 on the toe. I actually liked it better that way as the toe balanced with the heel a little better IMHO, so I took them out of the second one as well.
