About this crochet heart hot pad pattern:

Crochet Stitches Used

As mentioned earlier this pattern uses a stitch combination that adds some nice textured detail.

The specific name of the stitch used is the crunch stitch.

The crochet crunch stitch is a combination of alternating slip stitches and half double crochet stitches.

The alternation of these stitches creates a little textured bump that is evenly spaced. This stitch combination also creates a slightly thicker fabric which is great for a hot pad.

What yarn is used for this crochet hot pad pattern?

A worsted weight yarn that is 100% cotton is needed for this heart hot pad crochet pattern.

The purple heart example used Lion Brand 24/7 Cotton and the pink heart example used I Love This Cotton.

Both of these yarns are a worsted weight and are 100% cotton but they feel so different.

2 strands are held together when crocheting this design.
