Have you ever made a crochet tree skirt for Christmas?
This pattern is my very first tree skirt that I have ever crocheted. I love how it turned out.
I love the idea of crocheting my own tree skirt because you can completely customize it with your tree theme colors for that year.
I think a crocheted Christmas tree skirt can also be a very lovely and thoughtful gift to give to a loved one or a friend.

About this crochet tree skirt
Size & Yarn
This crochet tree skirt pattern has instructions for 2 different sizes. Circumference is 106″ or 122″. Width across is 33″ or 36″
2 different yarn colors are needed for this pattern. A main color and an accent color.
The white tree skirt used Big Twist Classic yarn and the brown tree skirt sample used Lion Brand Boogie Nights (discontinued) yarn.
This yarn needed for this project is a bulky weight #5. Both yarns used in the samples were on the thin side of a bulky weight so be sure to check gauge.
Stitches Used
The main stitches used in this crochet tree skirt are single crochet, double crochet and front post treble crochet.
There is one special stitch that is used on the very last edge row. That stitch is called the crab stitch or the reverse single crochet stitch. Check the special stitch description in the notes about how to work that stitch.
You will also need to know how to work in the back loop only of a stitch as well as know how to sew on buttons.

Beautiful tree skirt! I really like the textured part around the edge. Pinned and shared.
