A classic set of crochet Mug Rug Coasters.
This Mug Rug Coaster Set is an easy and quick project to work up. This specific set consists of 2 different coaster patterns that make up the full set of 4!
Both of the coasters use the same stitches (double crochet and single crochet) but the placement of these stitches is what makes the 2 coasters different.
You can make this Mug Rug Coaster Set your own by using whatever color combination you love. You can also keep these as plain coasters by not adding any fringe on the sides or instead of the side fringe you can add some fringe just in the 4 corners of each coaster.
If you have a small potted plant such as a succulent you can also use these Mug Rug Coasters underneath one of those. Or as the daughter of one of my testers did you can use these as a rug in a Barbie Dream House! So creative!
I really like to use cotton yarn when it comes to coasters or for any crochet item that may get damp or wet somehow. The yarn used for this square set of coasters is Lion Brand 24/7 Cotton.
I absolutely hated this yarn when I first tried it. The texture and make up of it was totally different than any other cotton yarn I had used before.
This yarn sat on my yarn shelf for a couple of years until I decided to try it out with these coasters. It turned out to be the perfect yarn for them! I hope you have some in your stash that you can use for this project.
Another great pattern for leftover yarn is this no button, no sew kitchen towel ring. Find that HERE.
