{A cozy comfortable pull through scarf perfect for dressing up any outfit}
I really love asymmetrical triangle shawls and scarves and I am always trying to think of new and unique ways that I can create one. This triangle pull through scarf is a perfect combination.
Now, a little note about the yarn used. The yarn used for the design is Caron Latte Cakes which is stated as a #5 bulky weight yarn but it really can be very comparable to a #4 worsted weight yarn.
Just something to keep in mind if you are thinking about substituting a different yarn especially a different weight #5 yarn. The drape can really be affected when substituting.

Materials:
- Yarn: #5 Bulky Weight – (265 yards) Caron Latte Cakes; suitable substitutes could be Lion Brand Scarfie or Red Heart Hygge
- Hook: US Size (J/10) 6.0mm or size needed to obtain gauge
- Other Tools: Yarn Needle, Scissors, Stitch Marker (optional)
Difficulty:
- Easy
Gauge:
- 14 hdc sts x8 rows = 4” worked in blo
Dimensions:
- 39” x 26”
Stitches/Abbreviations: US Terms
- ch – chain
- st(s) – stitch(es)
- hdc – half double crochet
- sp(s) – space(s)
- blo – back loop only
Notes:
- This is worked in rows starting at the narrow end.
- Work rows in the blo EXCEPT for the first and last sts of each row. Work those sts in both loops. When there is an increase of 2 hdc in a st work both sts in both loops.
- You can place a stitch marker on the increase side of the scarf to easily distinguish it from the other side.

Instructions:
Row 1: Ch 2, 2 hdc in second ch from hook, turn – 2 sts.
Row 2: Ch 1, 2 hdc in first, hdc in next, turn – 3 sts.
Row 3: Working in the blo from here on except for the first and last st work in both loops, ch 1, hdc in each across until 1 remains, 2 hdc in last, turn – 4 sts.
Row 4: Ch 1, 2 hdc in first, hdc in each across, turn – 5 sts.
Rows 5-65: Repeat Rows 3 & 4. End on a Row 3 repeat for Row 65 – 66 sts in Row 65.
*At this point your scarf should measure approximately 37 inches. If you need to make the scarf longer, continue repeats of Rows 3 & 4 and end on a Row 3 repeat. Then continue to the notes below on how to create 6 evenly spaced keyholes.*
Row 66 (keyhole row): Work this row in both loops. Ch 1, 2 sc in first, sc in next 5, *ch 4, skip 4, sc in next 6; repeat from * across, turn – 43 sts, 24 chs.
Row 67: Working in blo again, ch 1, hdc in each st and ch sp across until 1 remains, 2 hdc in last, turn – 68 sts.
Row 68: Working in both loops from here on, ch 1, *(hdc, ch 1, hdc) in first, sc in next; repeat from * across, turn – 102 sts, 34 ch sps.
Row 69: Ch 1, sc in first, (hdc, ch 1, hdc) in next ch-1 sp, *sc in sc st from previous row, (hdc, ch 1, hdc) in next ch-1 sp; repeat from * across – 102 sts, 34 ch sps.
Fasten off. Weave in ends.
How to wear:
You will weave the narrow end in and out of the 6 keyholes. After you have done that you can tie a small knot in the narrowest end to keep in place.
Keyhole Notes:
– If you worked more than the 65 rows stated, then follow these directions for your next row with keyholes. The keyhole row consists of 6 keyholes of 4 stitches skipped per keyhole with 7 solid spaces between them.
– I added several more keyhole rows that you can follow if you needed to work more than 65 rows. You can follow one of these rows or you can just evenly space out 6 keyholes yourself.
Row 68 (keyhole row if row before has 68 sts): Work this row in both loops. Ch 1, 2 sc in first, sc in next 5, (ch 4, skip 4, sc in next 6) 4 times, (ch 4, skip 4, sc in next 7) 2 times, turn – 45 sts, 24 chs.
Row 70 (keyhole row if row before has 70 sts): Work this row in both loops. Ch 1, 2 sc in first, sc in next 5, (ch 4, skip 4, sc in next 6) 2 times, (ch 4, skip 4, sc in next 7) 4 times, turn – 47 sts, 24 chs.
Row 72 (keyhole row if row before has 72 sts): Work this row in both loops. Ch 1, 2 sc in first, sc in next 5, *ch 4, skip 4, sc in next 7; repeat from * across, turn – 49 sts, 24 chs.
Row 74 (keyhole row if row before has 74 sts): Work this row in both loops. Ch 1, 2 sc in first, sc in next 6, (ch 4, skip 4, sc in next 7) 5 times, ch 4, skip 4, sc in next 8, turn – 51 sts, 24 chs.
Row 76 (keyhole row if row before has 76 sts): Work this row in both loops. Ch 1, 2 sc in first, sc in next 6, (ch 4, skip 4, sc in next 7) 3 times, (ch 4, skip 4, sc in next 8) 3 times, turn – 53 sts, 24 chs.
Row 78: (keyhole row if row before has 78 sts): Work this row in both loops. Ch 1, 2 sc in first, sc in next 6, ch 4, sk 4, sc in next 7, ( ch 4, skip 4, sc in next 8) 5 times, turn – 55 sts, 24 chs.
After working the keyhole row continue back to the pattern and work the last 3 rows – Rows 67-69.
